A quote from F. Guimaraes:
"Therefore, assuming that we’re already in a new grand minimum (of which I have no doubts about) we have 3 periods with which we could compare C24: cycles C14, C5 and the Maunder minimum. The present data seems to indicate that C24 is lower than C14 and C5.
Therefore, we’re facing a new grand minimum that is comparable to the Maunder minimum or even lower than that (Ice Age).
The Japanese study is bringing only more support and some physical explanation for what the present data already suggests."
(According to scientists at the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan and the Riken research foundation, current sunspot activity resembles a period in the 17th century known as the Maunder Minimum, the coldest part of the Little Ice Age.)

I can't tell you all how much it lifted my spirits to see all your responses to my 'howdy'. Gawd,, it's been forever, but that was a 'just like the good ole days' moment. We've had some exciting and fun times.
It's been almost a decade we've known each other! Damn!
Jas, that object in the pic sure is interesting, been seeing quite a bit, but not enough, about it. Anxious for more, fer sure! Puff one for me!
And that link to the Chinese anticancer stuff was wild. I was reading about malaria the other day and how in Africa it's almost incurable..almost everyone has it and the fear is that it will mutate out of control.
I enjoyed the model article, made some sense.
I've also heard about the Maunder Minimum...but hasn't the sun kinda kickstarted back to life? It was kinda slow for a long time, but I thought it was going crazy lately!?!?!
Well, I'll try to keep in touch.
Peace, Y'all
Yes sir, after all this time your friends are still 'in the room' Sunking. ;)
I was really quite overjoyed to see you had posted. What a journey with health stuff. I'm so glad your still breath'n the air and doing your thing. Thanks for checking back. Things had gone idle for a bit here but we all still feel the pull of the FSHOD ship.
Yes indeed the sun sure has been wild and the weather very different. Not sure how much might be weather wars. Had a certain flavour to it. Crazy drought in Canada here this Summer, but now back to 'normal'.
My thought off the cuff is the Sun had flipped, and then went quadpolar in May this year. Now, the Japanese made this unprecedented press release with their forecast. But as the Sun now had two north poles as they described or essentially two positive's, I wonder if the distubence is reflective of the quadpole occurring in May as we are nearing Solar Maximum which is said to be 2013. But perhaps the cool off is activated at Solar Minimum?? :)
Yes it is good to see some Shodies stop by Ion and you're right, the pull of the ship is still there! Hey Jas...kick some sand for me bro! Wow, it has been that long hasn't it Sunking? I'm always delighted to see some familiar names pop up here once in a while! I'll second that nomination for Ericswan!! :)
I too found the Japanese study interesting Ion, didn't they also propose that a quadrupole on the Sun, could be a precursor to a magnetic pole reversal here.
What I'd like to know is how this effects the planets, specifically us if the helical vortex theory, I believe first published by Dr. Pallathadka Keshava Bhat back in 2008, is in fact the correct orbital model of the planets and not the Copernican heliocentric model.
I'd theorize that if given the helical-vortex model is correct, the Sun's poles could "grab" a planets poles and "hold" them if you will, which might help a planetary magnetic pole reversal while the planet itself is spiraling around behind the Sun....hope that makes sense. To my knowledge no one has done the math on that one! Anyway, that may be a little off topic but just wanted to add to the discussion.
Interesting times we're in, that's for sure!

High strangeness indeed. I'm into positioning these days. I feel like I have to carry civilization forward and to be successful, planning for every contingency is the fun part. Stay tuned..
Hi everyone. So nice to still 'be in the room' with you. our time lines together just flow here and there. all good.
hey I just had shoulder and elbow surgry yesterday, so i'll limit this one hand adventure here today. iv in my neck doesn't help either.
much affection for you sturdy mates of years now. Sunking stay well, prayn for you in all meditations.

zeb. ..totally subscribe to phat astronomy. my personal would be the conjunction of three separate comets, with the star ALGOL. these would be hyakatake on april 10,1996 followed on the same date a year to the day later by HALEBOPP, and 11 years later by17PHOLMES.
