With Halloween just around the corner I thought I might pass on a book review, if nothing more than to relieve Sunking of blog duty.
On a recent trip to the bookstore I happened to pick up a copy of Spook: Science Tackles the Afterlife by Mary Roach. (Copyright 2005)
I had read her last book, Stiff: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers, about what happens to the physical body after we die. It was a most thoroughly informative and really funny book, (without being too irreverent). I knew I was in for a good time with Spook. In it she tackles what happens to the spirit after death.
Roach doesn’t necessarily go out to debunk such aspects of the afterlife as reincarnation, spirit communication, NDE’s etc…. she simply tries to put a decent scientific spin on things-which by nature tend to debunk supernatural phenomenon. She does all this with a wit and honesty rarely found in these kinds of subjects. She comes away with more or less a “they never disproved it conclusively.” feeling regarding the afterlife, an attitude which I found refreshing.
Her only true “ uh, yeah, right..” moments come while researching the Spiritualist movement and most specifically, the phenomenon of ectoplasm.. I have to agree with her assessment, it's not just implausible...but how gullible were some of these people to believe this cheesecloth feeling/appearing substance (which, actually, IS cheese cloth) could have actually been considered” otherworldly” much less completely laughable?
A Medium expelling 'ectoplam' from her ear during a seanceMore than one medium of the time was inserting the cloth-yards of it in some cases-into their most private parts and expelling it on command-both disgusting and impressive at the same time! One woman was actually stuffing {dead} unborn rabbits up there and then “giving birth” to them!
In their defense, it was an age of brand new technology: radio, telecommunication via Morse code that must have seemed to them as magic if not utterly supernatural, still does for me to this day, so why not “ectoplasm??” At any rate, I have to side with Mary on this: both ectoplasm and bunny birthing is probably a hoax.
I enjoyed this book wholeheartedly-both skeptics and true believers alike will be entertained..

Ghost hunters : William James and the search for scientific proof of life after death / Deborah Blum.
William James is the brother of the writer Henry James. He was a professor at Harvard's psychology department and was among those who took the paranormal seriously and on the American side took on many investigations to either prove or disprove what was taken place. More than a few frauds were exposed, but also there were cases that to James and other investigators did indeed appear to be genuine. All of the investigations were in the late 19th/very early 20th Centuries.

I heard Mary Roach read from part of "Stiff" on a radio interview show a while back. She did seem to have a good sense of humor.
The Comet Holmes supposedly got bigger again last night. In comparative photos, with the size of jupiter scaled to be the same distance as the comet, the comet gas ball is bigger than Jupiter!
At least according to Spaceweather.com.
Only problem is my Red Shift program has Comet Holmes in the constellation Andromeda, and Space.com and Spaceweather.com have it in the constellation Perseus.
(A little birdie told me RCH is looking into this... stay tuned:) )

The DART spacecraft was supposed to automatically rendezvous with another satelite. Instead it crashed into it. OOOP!
The $110 million DART mission – Demonstration of Autonomous Rendezvous Technology – went awry in April 2005. At the time of the crash, reads the report: “DART was flying toward [the satellite] at 1.5 metres per second while its navigational system thought it was 130 metres away and retreating at 0.3 metres per second.”

Space weather.com is starting to talk about the possibility of Comet Holmes growing a tail.
My take is that comet tails point away from the sun and right now the earth is nearly between the sun and the comet, so any tail would be extended outward behind the comet as we see it. If it maintains the big gas ball, a tail could be more visible as the comet rises earlier each evening.

My version of Red Shift is Red Shift 2. Apparently it does not have the correct position for Comet Holmes. I queried the company (Maris) and got this response:
"RedShift 2 was released more than 10 years ago. We did not develop
updates for it as 4 more versions of RedShift was released since then.
The latest is RedShift 6. Comet Holmes is in the constellation of
Perseus. Probably RedShift 2 shows it in the constellation of Andromeda
because the method of numerical integration was not applied to calculate
its trajectory."
So my calculations of the comet being 19 degrees from the ecliptic are down the tube.

Astronomers worldwide are very excited about the astonishing explosion of comet P17/Holmes - discovered by UK astronomer Edwin Holmes in the late 19th century.This usually not very bright comet travels on a wide eclipsical track around the edge of our solar system.
On October 24, when it was nearest Mars, astronomers suddenly saw it brighten to a huge yellow/green ball which expanded and became so bright that it is now visible to the naked eye.Astronomers have been taking stunning photographs of it even from well-lit cities all over the world - from China to the UK, from Russia to Mexico.

In less than 24 hours, the 17th magnitude comet has brightened by a factor of nearly a million -- becoming a naked-eye object in the evening sky of the northern hemisphere.
Look for a golden 2.5th magnitude fuzzball in the constellation Perseus after sunset. According to the chemical spectrometry readings, the explosion contained both oxygen and carbon-based gases.
It's a total puzzle to astromers why the comet exploded. Two days later, it has started losing its wonderful yellow luminescent glow and is now reforming into the familiar comet-shape with a trailing tail -- but remains very bright.

I would like to read NASA's account of how this dirt ball lit up. Since it's all very speculative I'm going to suggest that the comet's features remind me of a light bulb in that the vacuum of space is insulating the comet and the filament is a metaliferous (iron?) ball that ignited when it was hit by a stream of electrons from the ejecta of plasma from sources yet to be discovered.
Holmes does NOT travel around the edges of our solar system. It is one of the "comets" that travel around the sun between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter, same as the asteroid belt.
It has an orbit of aprox. 7 years.

Look at the picture on Goro's web site main page of the "Apple Leopard" roll-out on October 26, 2007. The package shows a galaxy or nebula with a big "X" in front of it. How coincidental that the big increase in size of the Comet Holmes happened about that time in the same place that two other comets previously crossed.

Woke up..got out of bed..and tried to shake this dream outta my head. I was in a room that I had apparently frequented sometime in the past and where I had left a stash which low and behold was still where I'd left it. Spun it up and was about to fire it up when a multitude of light seekers entered the room. (You were there). I was informed that a meeting was being held and that the guest speaker was on his way in to address the subject of "Venus". I was told that it wouldn't be appropriate for me to "spark it up". I was inundated with a mass of seekers all finding seats and glad handing each other with nods and looks of recognition. My hand was hot but it was contraband that had me agitated so I walked out.
Out of the dream and wondering "Who are those guys" and came to an epihany as to what is happening to comet Holmes. The clue was the "star of crossing with Hyaktuke and Hale-Bopp passing in previous time/space at the same place as Holmes lit up. In real time Holmes was magnetically in line with Jupitor, Mars and to some extent Venus and Earth. We have tails which are magnetic so that there was a conduit between all four planets at the exact time that Holmes was illuminated. This vertical or north south or light dark or good evil had been intersected by a time/space right angled Maxwellian left hand rule latitude intersects longitude energy with magnetism running north south and electro-magnetism running east west which had been demonstrated by the previous comet which was guided by the energy corridor.
These alignments of the north south magnetic and the east west zero point energy will be in place for the planet Earth on Dec. 21, 2012.

I finished reading the whole updated Regan thing. It makes too much sense being able to look back in hindsight.
The (para) phrase that shot out at me was the "we thought that the world's religious leaders would panic".
It wasn't that the public would-it's that the leaders would!!!
Now, with the seeming secularization of society these days one has to wonder if that wasn't a deliberate plan as well in order to make people less reliant on God, therefore allowing them to be more open to the idea of aliens among us.
The more I read the SERPO stuff the more I am inclined to believe it even though this stuff is probably the most implausible UFO information ever released to date. (I suppose the Dark Mission stuff notwithstanding)

I wouldn't get too hung up on the story of the two other comets crossing at the exact same spot as where Holmes suddenly expanded.
Don't forget, Perseus is a long way off. There's a lot of "z axis"
between us and Perseus. The comets may have appeared to cross the same spot, but their paths may have been millions of miles apart.
Also the two earlier comets crossed a year apart on the same calendar date (April 11), so they would have been viewed by earth based viewers from the other end of earth's orbit around the sun as the present Holmes appearance (end of October/beginning of November), so the "crossing point" and Comet Holmes would be viewed in the "same position" relative to the background constellation Perseus from two different places about 186 million miles apart. And actually more than that, because in the mean time the sun and the whole solar system has also traveled millions of miles in its trek around the galaxy, and the whole galaxy has moved millions of miles, etc.
That's not really "the same old place" (although it may be the old Same Place...)

McCanney doesn't mention the other comets that occupied the Perseus location either. What he says is that the alignment of the tails of magnetism that follow the planets including Earth is a plasmatic event that energises all the objects including the Van Allan Belt or small comets caught in that serpentine flow of magnetism and electricity between objects. Makes me wonder what plasma is when there is a physical remnant or tail of magnetism between objects. Time to go...hehehe

Although according to the pamphlet that comes with the DVD, the army did not cooperate with allowing soldiers, tanks, etc from nearby base to be used, so the military vehicles in the film were from the Virginia National Guard. But at least at a higher background level there was alledgedly DOD or CIA collaboration.
Actually I never did get around to watching the "Making of the Day the Earth Stood Still" added feature on the DVD. After reading this SERPO stuff, it might be quite interesting to see if there is any "hint" in that documentary.

I have a few chapters to go, but not the last ones. I kinda skipped around.
It's well written and lays out the the arguments in a well thought out and logical manner.
I am convinced the artifacts on the moon and mars are there and there is a NASA cover-up.
The chapter (5, I think) about the ritual star alignments and the masonic, magician, and nazi influences goes into a great detail about the mythology involved in the early Egyptian religion.

The first photo was of my choosing. Its my favorite ghost picture. I saw it in a book when I was about 8. It is a huge reason I started on my life long examination of the paranormal etc...so it's kinda special.

Finished watching the new Manchurian Candidate. I saw the original when it first came out and a couple of times since. It's a classic film, but the new version with Denzel Washington was scarier. And definately "ripped from the headlines."
I did notice a couple of slight nods to the RCH/DarkMission/Apollo-astronauts-"forgetting"-what-they-saw-on-the-moon controversy.
One is when the army hero/congressman/vice-presidential candidate privately admits that he can't remember the events when he supposedly rescued his platoon, which led to his Congressional Medal of Honor.
If he thinks back on that time, he can remember what is going to happen, but he doesn't remember it actually happening.
The second nod is a little more subtle. At the climactic scene of the movie, after the election, when the "winning ticket" candidates are about to go out on stage for the victory party, there is a video display above the stage with three screens and a rah-rah, patriotic video montage begins with what is clearly the upper stages of an Apollo moon mission rocketing from left to right across the three screens.
(Followed by flags, Mount Rushmore, and the usual stuff.)

Funny (?) how all thes storms keep popping up in major shipping lanes.
Last week there were storms off the coast of Mexico disrupting the oil production of PEMEX (Petrolios Mexicanos)including two drilling rigs colliding, then there was the
hurrican NOEL over the Bahamas. The port of Freeport in the Bahamas is one of the largest oil transshipping ports in the world.
A lot of supertankers from the middle east offload at Freeport to smaller tankers that deliver to the Eastern Coast of the U.S.
Then there was a tropical storm off of Yemen (route between the Persian Gulf and the Red Sea/Suez Canal/Mediterranean. And this week it will be Typhoon Peipah in the shipping lanes between Viet Nam and the Philippines. That's going to disrupt a lot of traffic from the Malay penninsula and the Middle East to China's industrial coast, and Japan and Korea, not to mention Shell oilfields off the coast of Vietnam. (which was one of the unspoken reasons for US being in the Vietnam war, but Shell was able to cut a deal with the communist Vietnam regime after the US left, and as far as I know they are still there.)

Given the current state of affairs, comet Holmes may be visible in the daylight. It's magnitude 1 as we speak and 7 circumfrences of the moon from the crescent. This is the fourth brightest object I've ever seen in the skies after the sun, moon, and Kecksburg fireball.

AOL news finally had something about HOLMES, and local tv weather guy finally mentioned it.
Space dot com finally had the correct explanation about the tail-- we are looking at the comet "head on", so the tail is mostly hidden from view by the coma. If you look at some of the captions for the pictures, the comet appearing half the size of the moon is only after a 45 minute exposure. Yes, it's huge, but most of it is pretty faint.

No phenomenon in the observed Universe has been a source of more continuous surprises than comets. In fact, despite the exterior confidence by astronomers and astrophysicists that "all is well" in mainstream cometology, researchers have been so baffled by unexpected discoveries that conventional comet theory no longer exists! "We have now had four close encounters with comets, and every one of them has thrown astronomers onto their back foot." -Stuart Clark, New Scientist, September 09, 2005.
Yet comets are still touted as "Rosetta Stones" allowing us to decipher the formation of the solar system. The "dirty snowball" hypothesis, considered theoretical bedrock for decades, has failed resoundingly at predicting comet behavior and, more recently, comet composition.
The most dramatic surprises began in 1986 with the discovery of negatively charged ions in the coma of Comet Halley, the signatures of energetic electrical activity, and the absence of water on the nucleus. In subsequent years, comets have produced a steady stream of "mysteries" that have left astronomers groping for answers:
1. Highly energetic supersonic jets exploding from comets' nuclei.
2. The inexplicable confinement of these jets into narrow filaments, spanning great distances, up to MILLIONS of miles, defying the behavior of neutral gases in a vacuum.
3. Jets occurring on the dark sides of comet nuclei.
4. Comet surfaces with sharply carved relief -- the exact opposite of what astronomers expected under the "dirty snowball" model.
5. Unexpectedly high temperatures and X-ray emissions from cometary comas.
6. A short supply or complete absence of water and other volatiles on comets' nuclei.
7. Mounting evidence for the production of the OH radical in cometary comas, due to charge exchange with the Sun (the process that misled astronomers into thinking they were seeing evidence of water removed from the surface.)
8. Mineral particles that can only be formed under extremely high temperatures -- the last thing one would expect from a chunk of dirty ice arriving from the outermost reaches of the solar system.
9. Comets flaring up while in "deep freeze," beyond the orbit of Saturn.
10. Comets disintegrating many millions of miles from the Sun.
11. Comet dust particles more finely and evenly divided than is plausible for sublimating "dirty ices."
12. Ejection of larger particles and "gravel" that was never anticipated under the idea that comets accreted from primordial clouds of ice, gas, and dust.
13. The unexplained ability of a relatively minuscule comet nucleus to hold in place a highly spherical coma, up to millions of miles in diamater, against the force of the solar wind.
All the above findings pose enormous problems for the "dirty snowball" model; all are predictable features of the electric model. Nevertheless, the odds are pretty good that you have never even HEARD of the electric comet hypothesis (although had you lived in the 19th century, when astrophysical journals frequently discussed the electric properties of comets, you might have). This is because the space sciences throughout most of the 20th century have been constructed on the theoretical assumption that bodies in space are electrically neutral. An electric comet would strike at the foundations of the theoretical sciences today.
The Electric Universe views comets as negatively charged bodies moving through the radial electric field of the Sun, the most positively charged object in the solar system. The most energetic cometary displays occur with comets that spend the most time in the outer regions of the solar system, where they acquire a strongly negative charge. As they race toward the Sun, moving into a more positively charged environment, the nucleus will be subjected to increasing electrical stresses, eventually beginning to discharge.
But what might occur with a shorter-period comet that does not move on a highly elliptical orbit? It happens that presently, we are witnessing an excellent example accompanied by many enigmas. In the past two weeks, the Comet Holmes 17P has made international headlines with an energetic outburst that has left astronomers speechless. The website skyandtelescope.com has called it "the weirdest new object to appear in the sky in memory." "For no apparent reason," the comet began to increase in luminosity, rapidly brightening from 17th magnitude to about 2.5 -- approximately a million-fold increase in brightness. This is the not the first such outburst by the comet -- its discoverer Edwin Holmes witnessed a similar brightening in 1892 followed by a second eruption 2-and-a-half months later.
In the span of a few days, the comet's coma grew to such an enormous and bright disk that it could be seen with the naked eye, though it never gets as close to the Sun as the planet Mars, and when it suddenly erupted, it was moving AWAY from the Sun.
As the structure of the coma has clarified itself, jets have appeared streaming away from the center. The source of the jets is entirely enigmatic, if not preposterous through the lens of the usual comet assumptions.
"This is truly a celestial surprise"..."Absolutely amazing", said Paul Lewis, director of astronomy outreach at the University of Tennessee.
The reason for astronomers' amazement is that, given the comet's distance from the Sun, solar heating cannot offer a plausible explanation for the eruption. Worse than that, it has been moving AWAY from the Sun! So now, astronomers trying to explain these anomalies have begun grasping at straws. After a bit of hair tearing, the most common speculation is that the source of the outburst is "sinkholes" in the comet nucleus. But the trivial, almost immeasurable, gravity of a comet could hardly justify this "explanation" -- no force is available to cause the surface to "sink"!
The only other "explanation" could be that another object struck the comet, a scenario that, by the astronomers' own estimates, is virtually inconceivable.
If, however, cometary displays are almost exclusively due to electrical stresses, the question remains as to why a comet moving AWAY from the Sun might exhibit a sudden discharge. In the case of Comet Holmes, one might suppose that neither the conventional view of comets nor the electric hypothesis can explain what we're seeing. But in fact, the electric view, based on new knowledge of the solar system environment, does offer a plausible interpretation of Holmes' behavior.
In its most recent visitation, the comet Halley provided an important clue. As it moved away from the Sun out beyond the orbit of Saturn, Halley experienced a major eruption that not only remains unexplained today, but seems to have conveniently slipped from astronomers' memory. Other comets such as Hale-Bopp began erupting "prematurely," while still in the icy depths beyond Jupiter's orbit. And numerous comets have exhibited unpredictable outbursts exceedingly difficult to explain in terms of an evaporating chunk of ice. And several comets have, quite unexpectedly, exploded into fragments. (See When Comets Break Apart,

In electrical terms, such unpredictable behavior can be related to the breakdown of the plasma sheath that forms around a charged body in space. This behavior is well documented in the laboratory. A plasma sheath insulates the charged body from the charge of the surrounding plasma, and across the wall of the sheath, called a "double layer," there is a strong electric field. But when that wall breaks down, the result can be an explosive instability with accompanying electric discharge. In other words, the charged body may exhibit little unusual behavior until the breakdown occurs.
Such a breakdown can be provoked as one plasma sheath penetrates into another. This phenomenon seen in the laboratory draws our attention to the structure of the Sun's plasma environment and to the unique plasma sheaths of the planets themselves. Wherever our probes have taken us, we have found new levels of structure, all with electrical implications. Within the "magnetosphere" of Venus, astronomers were amazed to find coherent ropes or "stringy things." The New Horizons probe found curious cellular blobs moving down the vast plasma tail of Jupiter. The Sun itself is immersed in plasma structure with boundaries and double layers, a laboratory in space for intense investigation today.
So what might have happened to Comet Holmes? It is not a typical comet. The eccentricity of its orbit is minimal. It is always outside the orbit of Mars and inside the orbit of Jupiter. In fact, it is virtually as close to being an asteroid as it is to being a comet. And astronomers are slowly realizing that the distinctions between asteroids and comets are not as clear as they had once believed. Occasionally, asteroids sport cometary tails, like the asteroid Chiron, which was seen to develop a tail while orbiting between Saturn and Uranus around 1988 and 1989. It is now officially classified as both an asteroid and a comet. Since the electrical stresses on Holmes would be minimal, much like those on asteroids with modestly elliptical orbits, it is not unreasonable to assume that its plasma sheath remains largely undisturbed -- unless it penetrates into or is penetrated by another sheath with sufficient differential across its double layer to cause an explosive breakdown.
It's interesting to note that the diagram of Holmes' orbit shows that it crossed the ecliptic (the plane of the planets movement around the Sun) quite close to the time of its closest approach to Mars. So it is certainly conceivable that Mars' own plasma sheath, by penetrating that of Holmes, provoked the fateful breakdown. Though this would not qualify as a coherent hypothesis today, it is the kind of issue raised by the electric model that is systematically ignored by mainstream astronomers.
As of this writing, the space science community has fallen virtually mute on the enigma(s) of Comet Holmes. Comet science is in an undeniable state of crisis, and nothing short of an intellectual revolution will save officialdom from irredeemable embarrassment. It is the hope of the electric specialists that the failures of the standard comet model, so nakedly obvious in the face of discovery, will inspire astronomers and astrophysicists to reconsider the real-world disciplines of electrodynamics and experimental plasma science -- disciplines that should never have been excluded in the first place.

The face is from the movie The Exorcist, and is the subliminally horrifying visage splashed across the screen 2 times during the movie...and is, in fact, the face of the demon. These split-second glimpses of this face were the scariest parts of the movie to me. It's not so scary in a still pic like that....but it's impact with the soundtrack and the other images on the screen were masterfully scary-as-hell!

The Sputnik declassified show was pretty good, tho I slept through some of it. Interesting how some things were decided "in the smoke-filled room", e.g. the decision to go with Vanguard vs. the Navy solution, by a group of unknowns (or at least 'names not mentioned') and the shock and surprise these events had for those involved.
That Russian video about the Dark Mission was good video...even the bit showing future moon colonization. Hoagland needs to work on a new hairstyle, one for the 21st century. The Mount Kelud situation doesn't sound too 'hot'...especially for the poor devils living in that area! Is Comet Homes portending 'doom'???? So while I don't read Japanese, judging from the Arabic numerals in the text portion of the video,

The second segment on the video was shot beginning at Latitude 66 (twice 33) North, longitude 274~288, and ending at latitude 87 North, longitude 26~161 (just short of going over the north pole, but the convergence of the longitude lines at the pole gives a larger range of longitude numbers)

I have also been doing some reading on other forums such as tsarion's. Interesting, how the conflicts we have had here on the blog are really not unusual, the other forums go through the same thing periodically. Growing pains perhaps ;)
A thought has been planted in my mind for a few weeks now, what if all those scientists really haven't parished? Just a clone put in their place and they have been wisked away some where, perhaps Mars, another galaxy? Who knows. If technology is far more advanced than we are given privy to, then anything, everything is possible. What we new in 1952 and compare it to what we know now as the general public... we have really been blinded and gagged. Are we not just lab rats for the TPTB.

Re: growing pains. It happens alot actually. I have seen it on many boards. You just learn to wether them and try not to take things too personally.
I think that the SERPO thing has its problems-but as I said before-if its a hoax, there has been an incredible amount of time and effort put into it.
I try to look at it as a soap opera and just wait for the next instalment. Regardless if its true ot fals-its damned fun to watch unfold.

Look at the scattering of color (pinks and blues) especially in the lower right corner above the "JAXA/NHK" lettering. Also look at the top of the curve of the horizon. Just slightly below there is a bright crater with a distinct glass bucky dome.

These are from the west side of Oceanus Procellarum. Why does the surface look so fuzzy/hazy/cloudy?
Why is there such a distinct bright delineation between the horizon and the dark of space?

Even if the above chart is normal for solar minimum, it is quite
remarkable for being completely quiet. There is no measurable
activity either in x-rays or radio waves. The solar wind has
been exceptionally quiet, too, as seen in the next link.

The decline in activity for the past six months has been nearly
perfectly linear.
And of course, the odd behavior of comet P17/Holmes, which flared
up as it was well passed perigee in its orbit around the Sun.
I really think we are heading toward an interesting phase of life
on this planet in the next six years. It may be that when the
Sun shuts down, the planets of Jupiter and Saturn flare up. It
seems the solar wind has been keeping the gas planets cool, much
like having a fan blowing against a stove. But turn off the fan
and the heat in the stove just builds up, turning the iron red
hot. I believe that the amount of charge is responsible for the
gas planets heating up.
If the charge is continually carried away, the gas planets cannot
ignite into a plasma state. The same must apply to comet
P17/Holmes. Since the Sun is much quieter now, the chemistry of
the comet may have been able to build up its charge to a point
where it could ignite into a plasma state.
On another note, I can make a prediction about Earth's climate.
It isn't important whether this prediction is right or wrong, it
is important that it can be made. If the present climate change
is produced by humans, then no decline in solar output will
affect the overall climate. However, if the climate change is a
result of the Sun's energy output, we can expect a sudden and
sharp cold snap this coming year, maybe even this winter. This
unusual solar activity should give us an opportunity to really
understand solar influence on terrestrial behavior.

On an illustration page about Archeology there is a picture of Stonehenge with this caption:
"Below--(Egyptian) Stonehenge. Originated in the late Neolithic or early bronze age. A megalithic structure on Salisbury Plain, Wiltshire, England."
So much for the "Arish," Lemurians, Atlanteans, and the Druid Dudes. It's made of big stones, so it's gotta be Egyptian!

US Navy Gets Chinese Surprise

In a report in today’s Daily Mail, A Chinese submarine surfaced in the middle of a recent Pacific naval exercise and close to the vast U.S.S. Kitty Hawk - a 1,000ft supercarrier with 4,500 personnel on board.
By the time it surfaced the 160ft Song Class diesel-electric attack submarine is understood to have sailed within viable range for launching torpedoes or missiles at the carrier.
According to senior NATO officials the incident caused consternation in the U.S. Navy. One NATO figure said the effect was “as big a shock as the Russians launching Sputnik” – a reference to the Soviet Union’s first orbiting satellite in 1957 which marked the start of the space age.
The lone Chinese vessel slipped past at least a dozen other American warships which were supposed to protect the carrier from hostile aircraft or submarines.
The Chinese fleet includes at least two nuclear-missile launching subs. It is not known if the sub in question was one of these.
Commodore Stephen Saunders, editor of Jane’s Fighting Ships, and a former Royal Navy anti-submarine specialist, said the U.S. had paid relatively little attention to this form of warfare since the end of the Cold War. He said: “It was certainly a wake-up call for the Americans.
“It would tie in with what we see the Chinese trying to do, which appears to be to deter the Americans from interfering or operating in their backyard, particularly in relation to Taiwan.”

Well, my vacation had to be abandoned...alas. My mother-in-law, who arrived Tuesday night to visit with my daughters while th wife and I were gone, managed on Wednesday night to fall in our driveway and suffered a severe break on the humurous bone in her upper left arm. This resulted in her having surgery (plate installed in arm) on Thursday, the first day of our vacation! She may get out today, but she'll have to stay at our house for an extended recuperation period, as there is no one at her house to give constant care to her. Her surgery happened one month to the day after his husband died. So this has kinda sucked for all concerned. Oy Vey!

Tom Clancy wrote an excellent book (forget the name) many years ago wherein the Chinese sank a US A/C Carrier in the Taiwan straits. Because the US could not act decisively within a given timeframe, they lost the initiative in retaliating and the doo-doo just got deeper. You'd think that this incursion into 'our' sea-space would be nigh on to impossible. You can bet a real good reaming has already occured, and the innocent found guilty.

I have been fortunate to have had fairly clear night skies since first becoming aware of visible comet Holmes on this blog.

Since the last week of October when the comet "exploded," there has only been one night when it was too clody to see, and a couple of other partly cloudy nights where I could still sneak a peek (if only briefly) between passing clouds.
Even when the daytime sky is painted by chemtrails, the sky has cleared by late evening.
I am grateful.
A while back I came across a chart showing the projected apparent motion of Comet Holmes as seen from earth for the new few months.
(I'll look for it later and post the link)
Because of the difference in orbits between the earth and the comet, the comet (even though it is really going in the same orbital direction) will appear to go retrograde, and do a loop around and among the constellation Perseus (because the plane of the comets orbit is tilted to the ecliptic) and at one point stop and back up into a second loop.

i don't get up on a soapbox very often, but domestic violence is one subject that will put me up there.
I don't know how many of you know about the missing Stacy Peterson woman. She went missing, is presumed dead,( He claimed she ran off with another man which is a very typical abuser move) and they have arrested her husband who is a police officer. His ex wife Kathleen, whose letter is posted below, died under mysterious circumstances and they have exhumed her body. the following is a letter the ex wife wrote back in 2002. To the Atty General PLEADING for help.
Note the name of his 17 y/o girlfriend- Stacy-the one who is missing now.
I put this out there as am example of how real and how ignored so many abused women are and hope that this guy gets whats coming to him....

On three different occasions I have tried to reach you over the phone regarding charges I
filed against Drew Peterson, on the date of July 5, 2002.
Note, I did contact the Police Department and talked to the assistant Chief Mike
Calcagno, in reference to Drew Break in that same weekend. I than filed a report in
regards to my safety, from Drew by two officer that arrive at my residents 392 Pheasant
Chase, Bolingbrook, Il. 60490.
When I found out Mr. Peterson was having an affair with a minor at the police
department, he began to get very violent. By striking me with his hand and chasing me
through the house with a police stick. At that time on record, I had to get an order of
protection from him.
Their has been several times throughout my marriage with this man where I ended up at
the emergency room in Bolingbrook for injuries, and I have reported this only to have the
police leave my home without filing any reports.
On July 5th, Mr. Peterson got into my home with a garage door opener he programmed
for himself, while I was out of town with my son’s. I was unaware of his presents, and
was very afraid for my live. This man pop out from our living room while I was walking
down stair, with a basket of laundry. I was shocked and dropped all the cloths and stood
their, asking him to get out. Drew was in uniform (Swat Uniform), with his police radio
in his ear. He yelled, for me to sit down and be quiet I refused and he pushed me on the
stairs. He told me to move down to the third step and not to move or speak. He was very
angry that in our divorce the judge ruled he would have to pay me child support. He told
me he didn’t want to pay me anything. (He left my boys 8 and 9,and I With many bills,
up to 2,000.00 and with an 11,000.00 income tax bill, as well as a 6800.00 property tax
bill for us to pay. Needless to say we are without money or any credit) He kept me in
position for a very long length of time, while trying to convince me how horrible I am,
and I just need to die. He asked me several times if I was afraid, I started to panic! He
pulled out his knife, that he kept around his leg and brought it to my neck. I thought I’d
never see my boys again. I just told him to end this craziness and he for some reason
pulled back. I didn’t tell the police because I know they can’t protect me from him. I
know he will be back; he’s now attempting to try to make me look like the bad guy, with
untrue charges of Battery against him, and his 17 yr. Girlfriend. The sick thing is I really

think they’re enjoying this. Over the summer they went out of the their way to roller
blade right in front of my home, drive by and stop for long lengths of time in front of the
house. Childish things like his girl friend flipping me off if I was out in front with the
kids while driving by,
At the present time my children have been in a program at school called rainbows, in
efforts to repair some of the damage Drew and his girlfriend has created. One of which
Drew falsely arrested me in front of my children with my face in the grass, and calling
me a criminal for hitting his girlfriend, which didn’t happen. Instead, she called me a
bounce of inappropriate name in front of my children, so I felt it was necessary to get
them back in the house away from this. When I ran to the truck, it being very high up I
notices Stacy his girl friend taping me, with the stolen camera Drew took from our home.
I attempted to take the camera and my next goal was to return to my home with my
children. But I was thrown to the ground and treated like an outlaw, and booked and
arrested for no reason. My wrist was sprained, when I was being thrown to the ground
and held down by Drew, who was not on duty at the time. While this was happening my
children were being held against their own will, by Stacy Cales, while she told them to sit
down and be quiet. My son’s phyc is working with them but states, “she can’t fix what
continue to happen on a on going basis”. My eight year old come home from spending 1
hour with his dad, because he really is never there, and pushes his sons and girlfriend on
my son all the time, and expressed to me that he was confused! It seemed that Drews live
in girl friend showed both my sons her wedding dress and ring, and told them she was
going to marry their father. Of course that’s ok, for Adults, but when my boys come
home with tears in their eyes, still hoping for mom and dad to get back together again, it
become heart breaking and very confusing to them. They don’t understand how dad can
get married if he’s still married to their mommy. The list goes on, and I understand its
just part of it, but it need to stop. My sons and I would like to move away from this area,
for our safety and sanctity. I am a full time Nursing Student and Drew left me while in
the middle of the program. I don’t want my career or my sons to suffer this nightmare
anymore.
He knows how to manipulate the system, and his next step is to take my children away.
Or Kill me instead.
I really would like to know why this man wasn’t charged with this unlawful entry, and
attempt on my life. I am willing to take any test you want me to take to prove my
innocents of charges against me, and also any lie detector test, on the my statement I filed
against him. I really feel, Drew is a loose cannon, he out on the streets of Bolingbrook
patrolling, and just taking the law into his own hands. I haven’t received help from the
Police here in Bolingbrook, and asking for your help now. Before it’s to late.
I really hope by filing this charge it might stop him from trying to hurt us.

I also wanted to mention that I picked up and skimmed through Hoagland and Bara's new book. I can't say that it moved me much, as the evidence as provided in photos is still just as flimsy as it ever was. There are one or two interesting photos, but all in all it was the same old stuff presented in book form. There was some interesting history in there that I had never had the need to look into, such as Kennedy wanting to team up with the Russians to further the space programs of both nations. Very cool, indeed.
China should be shooting some nice, hi-res photos and videos by now, and surely all of these glass domes will come into view there if they happen to exist. I suppose it's possible that China may hide such a finding, but it seems much more likely that they would be happy to break the news and go down in history as the finders of ancient alien artifacts (or at least the people who told the rest of the world about it).
Also, we are on the eve of private space corporations who will be making trips to the moon soon, and some of them will surely shoot images of the old landing sites where these artifacts were found. If China won't break the news of any strangeness on the moon, a private company most certainly will.
I have to say that while I found Hoagland's moon theories extremely fascinating back in the early 90's when a friend first showed me Monuments of Mars, I have NEVER looked at those moon photos and seen glass structures. Even with a vivid imagination, I could not make them appear.
Just like everyone else, I would love for it all to be true, but despite this latest book, it seems we will have to wait just a wee bit longer for someone other than NASA to put this stuff to rest.
Oh, and what happened to all the 2012 talk Richard was so deep into not long ago? I remember buying and downloading a cool MP3 when Richard was at Josue Tree, about an hour from my house. It was similar information to what he shared when I saw him in LA at the Consciousness Expo (?). I had looked forward to getting the other MP3's, but all the information about 2012 seems to have disappeared.
I don't listen to Coast, so does anyone know if Richard has explained why he dropped this line of research, or was it just put on hold for the new book? I suppose he has a few years before he really needs to ramp it up (in book form, I'm, guessing).
As a side note, I'm glad he decided to stop giving his information up for free, for his own good. As many hits as he was getting, and as much as people love to read his content (whether they think of it as fiction or not), it was silly for him to give it all away for free in the form of online articles. The man has to make a living, so good for him.
Robert..I have spent the last two days pondering that same pic and wonder if it has occurred to you that NASA has to be doing stereoscopic photography to gain any insight into this and other objects. The secret government of the US and EU has promised a major overhaul in the wake of the warning it got from the Chinese secret society, according to a senior Japanese public security police officer and Freemason who has been acting as an intermediary with the Chinese secret society. “Expect big changes this autumn,” he said in comments confirmed by a member of the Japanese royal family. “What you will be seeing is the unwinding of George Bush senior’s 50-year campaign to turn the U.S. into a fascist regime,” the secret police agent says. “George Bush senior is now a broken man showing signs of senile dementia,” he adds.
If the sources are to be believed, U.S. President George Bush’s government will resign, before his term expires, and will be replaced by an interim regime headed by Al Gore. This will start a 2-3 year transition period during which suppressed technology, such as free energy, will be released and a new system for running the planet will be implemented, according to these two sources. “They [The illuminati] know their rule is ending but they do not want it to end in an ugly way,” the security police source says.
The recent market turmoil, including the Chinese threat to sell dollars, was part of the bargaining towards major changes in the secret balance of power, we are told.
Certainly there are some encouraging signs. The tearful resignation of U.S. presidential “brain” Karl Rove removes a central lynchpin of Bush’s regime. Since it follows six other resignations; it does look like rats abandoning a sinking ship.
In Japan, meanwhile, the victory of the opposition Democratic Party in the recent upper house elections could lead to the end of the Iraq and Afghan wars. Japan Democratic Party leader Ichiro Ozawa has promised to block renewal of an “anti-terrorist” bill that allows Japan’s Self-Defense Forces to provide considerable logistical support to the U.S. sponsored wars in the region. Without that support, it is unlikely the U.S. will have enough money or military might to continue the wars.
Since this follows UK Prime Minister Brown’s vow to remove British troops with or without U.S. approval, it will mean the Bush regime has lost its last big war allies. Brown also publicly rebuked Bush during a recent visit by doing such things as pointedly refusing to take home a souvenir he was given.
There are also signs the Japanese election was manipulated behind the scenes to promote a Democratic Party victory in Japan. Just before the election, the Japanese mainstream media suddenly began reporting heavily about a pension scandal the JDP has been talking -unreported- about for at least 5 years. This was crucial for their victory. We may see a general election as early as this fall, followed by the birth of a JDP government and an end to the post-war Japanese regime. It could be a sign of diminished Rockefeller influence in Japan. However, it is not a sign of diminished illuminati control of Japan since Ozawa is himself a Freemason.
Despite the positive developments, the biggest worry is all the public hints about a new “terrorist attack” on the U.S. to be used as an excuse to trigger martial law. However, such an attack at this time “would fool nobody,” the sources said. Many U.S. citizens might be fooled but no other government in the world would believe it. “The secret government knows they cannot use their old tricks anymore,” the sources said.
The Chinese secret societies meanwhile, are watching carefully for any sign of new attempts to spread disease or otherwise carry out genocidal attacks. They only give one warning and have now initiated a news blackout. I am not in the loop about what they would do if a new breach was found but, they did say whatever action they took would be “unpredictable and worse than expected.”
At the same time, an anti-Rothschild alliance has been formed in Tokyo. They warn that the entire Bush regime was probably set up as a “bad cop” to scare people in the arms of the EU “good cop.” They say there may be other surprises, possibly including a fake UFO invasion that Henry Kissinger hinted at during the 1991 Bilderberg meeting. “We will have to look at least four or five steps ahead in order to keep on top of these people,” the alliance says.
So far, the EU only consists of governments that are controlled in secret by the Rothschilds etc. (Turkey is also a Rothschild fief). Their secret parliament, the Bilderbergers, have already shown they are racist by refusing to allow any Japanese to join. As a result, any effort to turn the EU into the base of a world government is doomed to fail.
The anti-Rothschild alliance, (with the discreet backing of the Chinese secret societies), will be contacting leaders of Russia, China, India, the Muslim countries, South America, Africa etc. to create a global alliance that will demand a new way of running the planet.
The UN Security Council will have to be replaced with a new grouping that more accurately represents the people of this planet. As it stands, 4 out of the 5 permanent Security Council members are representatives of Caucasian nations even though only 17% of the world’s people are Caucasian. This global apartheid will have to end.
The world’s financial system will also have to be replaced with a more transparent and equitable system that relies on more than simple human selfish greed as the main incentive for transactions.
Once this is done, a three-year campaign against the five curses of humanity: war, poverty, environmental destruction, ignorance and disease could be carried out. This could be a test case for replacing the Hegelian system of pitting opposite forces against each other in war with a system for people to compete towards agreed upon peaceful goals.
The industries and lobbies that have depended on war and turmoil will have to be given new goals and direction. One possibility would be a long-term campaign to terraform Mars.
People will have to be patient, however. These changes will happen over a period of years, not months. In the meantime, let us see if the autumn surprise appears as promised.

Robert from the article recently about the finding of the 'skylights' on Mars, the caves now named interestingly "The Seven Sisters", have you notice they have only released a segregated image of the holes.
An odd naming like that of "the seven sisters' is certainly a nod to the Pleides Star Cluster, also named "The Seven Sisters". (see Wayne Herschel's work The Hidden Records)

The UFO Probe story...not sure of who's involved with that, we know that there have been several disclosure groups that have had similar individuals calling for similar actions. But, in the knowledge of my ignorance about the folks behind this one, I smell a rat...we know that Cheney and his ilk would like nothing more than another 'Pearl Harbor' that would allow for the militarization of space...AND we've heard theories about raising the spectre of evil ETs to perhaps motivate public opinion, and hence public policy and law, to those ends (since militarization of space is against established laws and treaties, but what of that....to wit. our pre-emptive Non-War in Iraq). In other 'disclosure' movements, I've never heard '9/11' invoked like it was in this article, correct me if I'm wrong. I wonder if this group, like Cheney's PNAC, is financed and supported by Intel, the M/IC and right-wingers. It's possible. And fits their modus operandi of co-opting a 'liberal' theme and twisting it to their own ends. (e.g. global warming was, and remains, the 'enemy' of the fascist corpocracy since it equates to higher costs of doing business....at least it was until they figured out how to co-opt that theme and make more business opportunities out of it. I saw that coming in the summer of 2006, when the CEO of Shell Oil got on the Today show and said "global warming is now an established fact". That went unnoticed by most, but now look at all the oil company ads that show green technology propoganda...although it is often some CGI computer animation BS. SO anyway, I smell a rat with that story.

Virulent form of cold virus spreads in U.S

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A new and virulent strain of adenovirus, which frequently causes the common cold, has spread in parts of the United States, killing 10 people and putting dozens into hospitals, U.S. health officials said on Thursday.
A U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report detailed cases of people ill since May 2006 with a strain of the virus called adenovirus 14 in New York, Oregon, Washington state and Texas.
"Whether you're a healthy young adult, an infant or an elderly person, this virus can cause severe respiratory disease at any age," said John Su, who investigates infectious diseases for the CDC and contributed to the report.
Two of the 10 people who have died from the new strain were infants, Su said. The CDC report said about 140 people have been sickened by the virus and more than 50 hospitalized, including 24 admitted to intensive care units.
Adenoviruses frequently cause acute upper respiratory tract infections like the common cold, but also can cause other illnesses including inflammation of the stomach and intestines, pink eye, bladder infection and rashes.
Colds caused by adenoviruses can be very severe in the very young and the very old as well as in certain other people, like those with compromised immune systems.
"For most everybody else, it causes a mild illnesses, you get over it, life goes on," Su said in a telephone interview.
"What makes this particular adenovirus a little different is that it has the capability of making healthy young adults severely ill. And that's unusual for an adenovirus, and that's why it's got our attention," Su added.
The first case described in the report was that of an infant girl in New York City who died in May 2006.
The report also described illnesses from the virus at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas.
A 19-year-old female recruit at the base died from the virus. Seven other people died in Oregon, including an infant. And a patient with AIDS died in Washington state.
"The cases described in this report are unusual because they suggest the emergence of a new and virulent Ad14 (adenovirus 14) variant that has spread within the United States," according to the CDC report.
It is possible there may be people outside of these four states ill from the new strain of the virus, Su said.
Doctors should be aware, Su said, that if a patient has severe respiratory symptoms or worsening respiratory symptoms that this particular strain of adenovirus might be involved, and might want to run tests to check. There are 51 different types of adenoviruses, the CDC report said.

That guy sure does sound like a loose cannon. It is especially bad when a police officer is a bad apple and the other officers look the other way or protect him.
We had a cop here who was convicted of killing a young man who supposedly was going to expose their homosexual activities. Due to a technicality (hearsay evidence was admitted in the trial)
the cop will now get a new trial.
Probably most police officers are fine, upstanding citizens who put their lives on the line to serve the public, but, as in any group, there are exceptions.
A female friend of mine has told me of cops who enjoy making traffic stops targeting good looking women. (And this in a university town.) She thinks it's a power trip for them. Of course when the city does its statistical review of traffic stops, they look at race, not gender. And of course more stops of African americans in a precinct that is largely African american in population is said to be warrented by the higher level of criminal activity there.

The figure we keep hearing repeated in the mainstream media like a mantra is "36,000 deaths from the flu every year in the U.S."
That figure, as I have pointed out previously, is from the CDC morbidity tables and includes deaths from flu and pnuemonia. Well, guess what, most older people
in hospitals or nursing homes dying from any of a number of conditions often develop pnuemonia
and die from fluid in their lungs.
Eat healthy, excercise, stay healthy.
Be not afraid.
If you focus your attention on sickness, by worrying about getting sick, you will get sick.
If you focus your attention on being healthy, you are healthy.

I think if you wanted to spread a virus to as many people as possible, start it in a public library in any fairly large city. I have seen people hack up their lungs in ways that I find quite alarming given my own respiratory problems.

An odd naming like that of "the seven sisters' is certainly a nod to the Pleides Star Cluster, also named "The Seven Sisters". (see Wayne Herschel's work The Hidden Records)

Unfortunately no...My THEMIS and ESA image collections only contain one dealing with Cydonia...and right now I am going through the last MOC data dump image by image, which is where I found the Ares Face not previously noted...partially that was my fault as when the Cumindex.tab was loaded in my MS Access database...I did not note that THIS dump the longitude had reverted BACK to the orginal one Dr. Mikey used at the begiing. Hence the Face was at 9 some degrees East and would have been misses when I put in the orginal parameters of 335 to 355 longitude points as I do with THEMIS data and ESA and Viking data.
I can suggest a way for you to look..just google Ares Mons in either google or search the THEMIS data release page and the long and lat numbers for the peak...then search several degrees on either side of the summit to look for them.
If you still can't find them...try emailing me and I'll try to squeeze it in.
All the Best...Searching THEMIS release page is a good place to start... but you need the coordinates....type ares mons first insearching themis release...pick any one near the peak...note the lon and lat....then do a SEARCH using those long and lat and a few degrees on either saide...which will give a WHOLE bunch on images around the area,,,also search for BOTH VIS and IR (nightime too).

Tropical Storms Lee and Guba are in the Southern Hemisphere. Their hurricane season is starting early.
Interesting their proximity to Sidr's starting position and the volcano in Indonesia.
Lee started almost due south of Sidr. Is heading east away from land and probably will diminish toward the cooler waters southward.
Guba is kinda stuck for now.

Just because some "mediums" are frauds, does not mean ectoplasm is implausible. In fact, it is quite plausible. Take a look at how an amoeba moves. It does so without muscles. It "projects" where it wants to go, and the rest follows. It is the physical "projection" that is what needs to be focused on. Gustave Geley conducted a number of "materialization" experiments in the 20's that verified the nature of "projection" and those results were ignored. They were ignored because there is no theory to account for it.

Communist Taikonauts to establish party branch in space.
Chinese taikonauts (astronauts) may start a branch of the Communist Party of China (CPC) in space, said the country's first taikonaut Yang Liwei.
China now has a 14-strong astronaut team. The team members, including Yang himself, are all CPC members.
"If China has its own space station, the taikonauts on mission will carry out the regular activities of a CPC branch in space in the way we do on earth, such as learning the Party's policies and exchanging opinions on the Party's decisions," said Yang, a delegate to the on-going CPC national congress in Beijing.
"If we establish a Party branch in space, it would also be the 'highest' of its kind in the world," said Yang, who is also deputy director of the China Astronaut Research and Training Center.

According to the CPC Constitution, a grass-root CPC organization should be established where there are three or more CPC members.

Algol, the Demon, the Demon Star, and the Blinking Demon, from the Arabians' Ra’s al Ghul, the Demon's Head, is said to have been thus called from its rapid and wonderful variations; but I find no evidence of this, and that people probably took the title from Ptolemy. Al Ghul literally signifies a Mischief-maker, and the name still appears in the Ghoul of the Arabian Nights and of our day. It degenerated into the Alove often used some centuries ago for this star.
Ptolemy catalogued it as ton en gorgonio o lampros, "the bright one of those in the Gorgon's head," which Al Tizini followed in his Na’ir, for, with pi, rho, and omega, it made up that well-known group, itself being the Gorgonea prima; the Gorgonion of Chrysococca, Gorgoneum Caput of Vitruvius, Caput Gorgonis of Hyginus, and the Gorgonis Ora of Manilius.
With astronomical writers of three centuries ago Algol was Caput Larvae, the Spectre's Head. Hipparchos and Pliny made a separate constellation of the Gorgon stars as the Head of Medusa, this descending almost to our own day, although always connected with Perseus.
The Hebrews knew Algol as Rosh ha Satan, Satan's Head, Chilmead's Rosch hassatan, the Divels head; but also as Lilith [*1], Adam's legendary first wife, the nocturnal vampire from the lower world that reappeared in the demonology of the Middle Ages as the witch Lilis, one of the characters in Goethe's Walpurgis Nacht.
The Chinese gave it the gruesome title Tseih She, the Piled-up Corpses. {Page 333} Astrologers of course said that it was the most unfortunate, violent, and dangerous star in the heavens, and it certainly has been one of the best observed, as the most noteworthy variable in the northern sky.

A New Light In Our Sky?

I’ve never studied astronomy and couldn’t tell you the name of most constellations, but I am both soothed and intrigued while viewing the stars and planets. As a child the high point of visiting my grandparents in the mountains of North Georgia was laying on a blanket in the front yard after dark with binoculars at my side, searching for something in the sky, unmarred by city lights, that I could not define. Perhaps it is the spiritual part of me that draws my eyes to the sky and reminds me of the wonders of childhood or perhaps it is my dreams of seeing strange objects appear in the sky that keep me looking upward.
We’ve watched the sky for signs throughout history; full moons, eclipses, comets and meteors have been the basis for many omens and beliefs. Whether these signs were considered good omens or bad omens depended on the culture, location and events occurring at the time. Comets, with their motion said to be directed by the hands of ancient angry gods, have had a particularly bad reputation in our history for being a harbinger of doom or an impending menace to the universe.
So with fascination I read of Comet 17/P Holmes suddenly brightening this week, astounding astronomers and becoming visible with only the naked eye. A article in New Scientist tells us that Comet Holmes has brightened by a factor of a million in 24 hours and according to David Morrison, senior scientist at the NASA Astrobiology Institute in Moffett Field, California, “This is equivalent to the planet Saturn suddenly becoming as bright as the Full Moon.”
And in an article from Yahoo News, Brian Marsden, director emeritus of the Minor Planet Center, which tracks known comets and asteroids, has stated, "This is a terrific outburst. And since it doesn't have a tail right now, some observers have confused it with a nova. We've had at least two reports of a new star." And comet expert John Bortle has said that the head of the comet could continue to grow in size and may possibly reach the apparent size of the moon in our sky.
Comet Holmes was discovered in 1892 by Edwin Holmes when it brightened enough to become faintly visible with the naked eye, it was also seen in 1893, 1899 and 1906, but then it was not spotted again until 1964. Comet Holmes can now be seen in the constellation of Perseus. And according to Space Weather, a gaseous cloud is racing from the core of the comet almost doubling night after night and may soon become a naked eye disk instead of a dimensionless point of light.
I stepped outside last night with a pair of binoculars and could easily distinguish Comet Holmes from the other lights in the sky, it appears as an orangey glow in the North East sky. As I know prophecies and omens often speak of signs from the sky I began searching for what this means beyond the scientific debates and the confusion of the experts, I wanted to know what the people thought. And although the mainstream media does not seem to be addressing this perplexing glow in the night sky, the news is spreading rapidly across the forums and Internet discussion boards.
Science tells us that the comet is heading away from us, but cannot explain why it has suddenly brightened. Although there are many theories of why we can’t see the tail of the comet, many are speculating that we can’t see the tail because the comet is heading towards earth. Most do not believe it will hit earth, but think we may be due for an amazing sky show as the months pass. Others feel that this close encounter will change us as a society and that the comet has been brought to us because we are war hungry.
The signifigance of why Comet Holmes has appeared in the Perseus constellation has also raised many questions. In Greek mythology Perseus was the first of the mythic heroes and was credited with killing the Gorgon, Medusa. In the constellation, Perseus is said to be holding the head of Medusa in his left hand and many are stating that Comet Holmes has appeared in the area of Medusa’s third eye, signifying an awakening of evil, grief and doom. The comet appeared next to the star Algol, which is considered to be the head of Satan.
Some have suggested that this light in the sky is man-made and is leading to a scenario laid out for us by Wernher Von Braun in the 70s and Canadian journalist Serge Monast in the 90s of a faked alien invasion called Project Blue Beam. Braun, the former director of NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center, explained to his assistant before his death in 1977, that the government had planned to lead us into a cold war, a war of rogue nations, global terrorism and then a faked alien invasion in order to keep the people fearful and the war budget funded.
Some are quoting the Bible and speak of the dragon being thrown to the earth, bringing with him one third of the stars from the heavens. Others state this comet is a sign from God that the fateful and alert will recognize, as it has been predicted to herald the beginning of great changes. Nostradamus has been mentioned, along with his prediction of a great and terrifying King descending from the sky. And the Hopi Indian prophecy of the Blue Kachina star bringing the Fifth World into existence has also been discussed.
Some have implied that this comet will continue to behave erratically, eventually garnishing attention from the mainstream media and will cause great fear to spread across the globe. Others believe it is not a comet at all, but something new under the sun and that when the experts are able to define it, they will have to admit many mistakes about the nature of the Universe. A few believers of the “not a comet” idea think that we are watching the birth of a new planet and still others contend that it may be our galactic siblings coming for an introduction.
Some have suggested that the reason for Comet Holmes sudden brightening means it was impacted by an asteroid or that NASA shot an explosive device into it as they did with the Tempel Comet in 2005. Many are questioning the coincidence of the Space Shuttle launch ocurring within hours of the sudden change in appearance of the comet. And others have implied that sending a comet into the earth, and guiding it as was practiced with Comet Tempel, would achieve the New World Order agenda of depopulation without the messiness of a nuclear bomb.
While reading as much as I could on Comet Holmes the most interesting thing I discovered is how little coverage this anomaly is receiving. Although this comet is not new, its explosion of light is unusual and I am confused as to why the major news outlets have yet to report this story. Could it be that since the experts don’t understand what is ocurring, the decision makers don’t want to cause fear? Whether Comet Holmes continues to grow and brighten or simply fades out of sight and mind, no one seems to know, including the experts, so take a look and be amazed.
