Happy Mother's Day

Hear Hear! To all Mothers, past present and future, For all the tears they dry, booboos, they kiss, and grey hairs they get. To all the miles they drive, games they cheer, heartaches they wish they could bear. For the joy of raising a child, for the sorrow of losing a child, Mothers truly make the world go round.
Today, all four of my children (16, 10, 10, 7) worked together without fighting, arguing, crying or tantrum throwing, to make me my very first Mothers Day Breakfast in Bed. The youngest made the coffee, the oldest made the pancakes, the youngest twin cooked the sausages, the oldest twin delivered it. They brought me gifts (courtesy of MY Mom) and I managed not to cry until I got to the most beautiful handmade card a Mother has ever seen. Made out of construction paper and containing a precious picture of each wonderful child, they wrote nice things and decorated it with ribbon and glitter. Of course the younger ones had made me presents in school, and they were all lovely, but that card was the BEST. I must have told them all 100 hundred times today how much it meant to me to have them work together so well on something. Ahhhh, its always the little things that mean sooooo much!

My mom divorced my dad when I was 6. She married the guy that was our milkman!
It wasn't until I was 25 or so that I finally put 2 and 2 together when recalling that the milkman would come by and let us play in the ice in the back of his truck...for like 20 minutes, at least twice a week! :(

Karl Rove Indicted on Charges of Perjury, Lying to Investigators

Special Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald spent more than half a day Friday at the offices of Patton Boggs, the law firm representing Karl Rove.
During the course of that meeting, Fitzgerald served attorneys for former Deputy White House Chief of Staff Karl Rove with an indictment charging the embattled White House official with perjury and lying to investigators related to his role in the CIA leak case, and instructed one of the attorneys to tell Rove that he has 24 business hours to get his affairs in order, high level sources with direct knowledge of the meeting said Saturday morning.
Robert Luskin, Rove's attorney, did not return a call for comment. Sources said Fitzgerald was in Washington, DC, Friday and met with Luskin for about 15 hours to go over the charges against Rove, which include perjury and lying to investigators about how and when Rove discovered that Valerie Plame Wilson was a covert CIA operative and whether he shared that information with reporters, sources with direct knowledge of the meeting said.
It was still unknown Saturday whether Fitzgerald charged Rove with a more serious obstruction of justice charge. Sources close to the case said Friday that it appeared very likely that an obstruction charge against Rove would be included with charges of perjury and lying to investigators.
An announcement by Fitzgerald is expected to come this week, sources close to the case said. However, the day and time is unknown. Randall Samborn, a spokesman for the special prosecutor was unavailable for comment. In the past, Samborn said he could not comment on the case.
The grand jury hearing evidence in the Plame Wilson case met Friday on other matters while Fitzgerald spent the entire day at Luskin's office. The meeting was a closely guarded secret and seems to have taken place without the knowledge of the media.
As TruthOut reported Friday evening, Rove told President Bush and Chief of Staff Joshua Bolten, as well as a few other high level administration officials, that he will be indicted in the CIA leak case and will immediately resign his White House job when the special counsel publicly announces the charges against him, according to sources.
Details of Rove's discussions with the president and Bolten have spread through the corridors of the White House, where low-level staffers and senior officials were trying to determine how the indictment would impact an administration that has been mired in a number of high-profile political scandals for nearly a year, said a half-dozen White House aides and two senior officials who work at the Republican National Committee.
Speaking on condition of anonymity Friday night, sources confirmed Rove's indictment was imminent. These individuals requested anonymity saying they were not authorized to speak publicly about Rove's situation. A spokesman in the White House press office said they would not comment on "wildly speculative rumors."
Rove's announcement to President Bush and Bolten comes more than a month after he alerted the new chief of staff to a meeting his attorney had with Special Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald in which Fitzgerald told Luskin that his case against Rove would soon be coming to a close and that he was leaning toward charging Rove with perjury, obstruction of justice and lying to investigators, according to sources close to the investigation.
A few weeks after he spoke with Fitzgerald, Luskin arranged for Rove to return to the grand jury for a fifth time to testify in hopes of fending off an indictment related to Rove's role in the CIA leak, sources said.
That meeting was followed almost immediately by an announcement by newly-appointed White House Chief of Staff Joshua Bolten of changes in the responsibilities of some White House officials, including Rove, who was stripped of his policy duties and would no longer hold the title of deputy White House chief of staff.
The White House said Rove would focus on the November elections and his change in status in no way reflected his fifth appearance before the grand jury or the possibility of an indictment.
But since Rove testified two weeks ago, the White House has been coordinating a response to what is sure to be the biggest political scandal it has faced thus far: the loss of a key political operative who has been instrumental in shaping White House policy on a wide range of domestic issues.
Rove testified that he first found out about Plame Wilson from reading a newspaper report in July 2003 and only after the story was published did he share damaging information about her CIA status with other reporters.
However, evidence has surfaced during the course of the two-year-old investigation that shows Rove spoke with at least two reporters about Plame Wilson prior to the publication of the column.
The explanation Rove provided to the grand jury - that he was dealing with more urgent White House matters and therefore forgot - has not convinced Fitzgerald that Rove has been entirely truthful in his testimony and resulted in the indictment.
Some White House staffers said it's the uncertainty of Rove's status in the leak case that has made it difficult for the administration's domestic policy agenda and that the announcement of an indictment and Rove's subsequent resignation, while serious, would allow the administration to move forward on a wide range of issues.
"We need to start fresh and we can't do that with the uncertainty of Karl's case hanging over our heads," said one White House aide. "There's no doubt that it will be front page news if and when (an indictment) happens. But eventually it will become old news quickly. The key issue here is that the president or Mr. Bolten respond to the charges immediately, make a statement and then move on to other important policy issues and keep that as the main focus going forward."

There have been something curious going on in my neck of the woods lately and feel it wise to let you all know about it. Maybe someone has a reliably sourced explanation, or maybe the 'rumours' of prisoner train cars are true. I have all sorts of theories, but am very interested in what you guys can come up with. So here goes...
About 10 days ago, I became seriously ill with severe allergies. I could not sleep due to the constant coughing, and once the doc gave me the wicked 'white lightning' cough syrup, I was too wired to sleep. So here I am cleaning my way through my house every night for a week while everyone else sleeps. Starting last Monday (one week ago tonight) the train track beside my house became busy. Now, let me just say that about 5 trains a day come through and the RR just recently completed the laying of new ties. Usually a train comes through between 11pm and 12pm, then nothing til 6 or 7 am. That night about 8 trains came through one after another. Almost all of them were heading east and many were back to back. The gates barely had enough time to raise before they came back down again. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday were the busiest days. There is still more traffic than normal, but it was really disturbing to hubby and I. I had just read the article posted about the prisoner train cars, today we have a possible war with Mexico, then you've got the whole end of the world on May 25th thing to consider too. Factor in my 'feelings' of something imminent occuring and my personal fears of a coming police state, and you can begin to imagine my anxiety level. So, there you go. Ponder away....and thanks for listening.

The small city I live in/near has a National Guard Armory, is within 25 miles of a major airport, and is/used to be a MAJOR crossroads of railway lines. The line beside my house is more of an offshoot from a bigger city. We have a company here that does R&D on nuclear waste, we lost all other manufacturing, and all the rail lines that come through are 'available' for nuclear waste transport to Yucca. However, it is not a nuclear waste train accident doesnt scare me. What scares me is what I would live through!
RE: White Lightning...when the doc called it that, I joked, what is moonshine legal now? It is actually vicoden and some decongestant. Wicked stuff...I miss it already! lol

If the thing that hit the Pentagon was traveling at 530 miles per hour, as reported, that would cipher out to 777.333 feet per second, or about 26 feet of travel in the space of a 1/30 second exposure(assumed), so a 757 aircraft would appear to be a blur the lenght of a 757 plus 26 feet.
The little thing I saw on the video looked too short in length and height to be a 757.
Plus where are the holes in the wall from the engines and the wings, and where are the skid marks in the pentalawn?

I'm extremely sad to say that the President Bush that I saw in the Fall(the season, not the verb) of 2001 is not the President Bush that I see today. I don't think, and will probably never think, without really solid evidence that can't be refuted, that there's some back room conspiracy. What I DO think is that President Bush has somehow lost that leadership ability. He's trying to please everyone now, instead of taking care of a serious problem, illegal immigration. He's not the "Clint Eastwood", or "John Wayne", President that I remember. Congress is not a whole lot better. The people we put in office aren't doing the things we put them in office to do. I'm not sure, but I think all this started after Bush won his second term. Whether or not that has any relavance, I don't know. What I do know is that this issue of illegal immigration has finally convinced me to become a voter (I've been avoiding registering to vote, because of jury duty, but I found out that they can still get me through my driver's license). I now have a voter card, and a voice in deciding who runs our country, and I plan to vote for someone who will actually LISTEN TO THE PEOPLE!!! I'm "Fed" up with all these political games....

Since Ivan the area that was part of the nice new park has been closed and shut off to cars. You can walk down there via the beach, but the access by car is closed and the parking lots empty. The feds suppoosedly sold it back to Navarre, who has decided to let it rot. ( another 5 mil of your tax dollars at pissed away here, folks.) Its sad because it was a good spot and there were parts that were almost private. The nude/gay bathers supposedly still go there, but the dunes are all gone so its hard to "hide".

Sure, Scarlet. My advice for you is to head up I-65...at Montgomery, brankch of to the road that goes NE to Linesville...from there go to Cheaha State Park. Highest point in Alabama, foothills of the Appalachian's. We used to go backpacking there, nice campgrounds for car camping and some lodges. Wild turkeys for roasting if supplies dwindle. 'Course, may get crowded.
But the closest high ground for you! 5-5.5 hours drive, normal conditions.

The drive between Pcola bch and Navarre beach was truly one of the most beautiful drives in the whole country. the mountians of white sand that looked like hills of pure suagr. I'm tellin ya crewe, it was almost blinding it was so white. I'll remeber it till the day I die as one the most beautiful places on earth. Now, its all gone. Flat as a pancake. :(

IonTruO2--Yes, thats a tough one. If it's not basically a buried ship of the large sizes we have talked about earlier, it is certainly interesting to note the site size of 104 acres is darn near the same size as the Vatican City.

Since the Andrew's AFB airshow is this Saturday, and since I live near the approach/holding pattern, I get to see a lot of cool planes. On a normal day, I'll see/hear C-17s and every now and then a C-5. Since a little after 8pm yesterday, I've seen a B-1B Lancer, a couple of F-16s (possibly from the Thunderbirds) trying out their smoke generators, a B-52 Stratofortress, a 737-200 trainer, and an E-3 Sentry Airborne Warning And Control System (AWACS). This is one of my favorite times of the year...

I found the best way to take a tour of Mars from orbit. First, you need to get a completely free game called "Orbiter"...

OSOTP, I've seen the Thunderbirds at the Dayton, OH airshow a few years ago. They flew right over my head (really!). I've seen the Blue Angels, too. First time I ever saw them was at the Andrews AFB airshow. One of them flew right over my head. I've learned to watch for one of them going from left to right really close to the ground at near supersonic speeds. Fat Albert is fun to watch, also (First time I ever saw a C-130 go almost straight up on takeoff). I hope that they do a demo of the F-22 this year at Andrews. Last year was the first time I saw a Raptor up close, and at first I thought it was a mock-up. The whole plane looked like a big plastic model! I also learned that the V-22 Osprey was smaller than I thought...

I don't think they want to hear it. Closed minded in a bad way. Just going through my day and seeing the interaction of people (ie; driving, people at Walmart, etc) shows me they are only interested in their own little world. Very few, IMO, are able to sit with you and really listen to new ideas and ways of thinking about things. They lack insight. A sure fire suppressor of individuality and the ability to learn and grow from experience in a positive way. I choose my confidants wisely. If not, you are sure to be labeled a "heretic" (yep, that word is still usable) and you become an outsider so to speak.
I am loving all the fuss being currently paid to the DaVinci Code. Talk about free advertising. It is all on the side of debunking. Hard to pick the truth from the shows. Better off reading the books they are using as the basis of their shows.

Careful, boyo. Those airshows are BIG recruiting tools! My first view of the Blue Angels (in Huntington, WV, made me nuts about Naval Aviation...and I ended up in Naval Aviation...but in the unglamourous role of ordering and delivering aviation parts.

On airshow Friday, I was leaving the beach and as I was ascending the south end of the Bob Sikes bridge, one of the Blues was coming out of a low pass and for a second, we were side by side at about the same level of 'climb', I coulda seen him pickin' his nose. GAWD, I was pumped!!! YEEEEEAAAAAAAAAH!
Was watching them from a distance, over a Nat'l Seashore in the Breeze, they do this manuver where they meet near the deck and all go straight up, bottoms facing in, then waaaaay up, they separate like a 5-petaled fluer de lis and drop straight down...it truly did look like angels, falling from the heavens..was fucking beautiful!
But then one must remember that these machines ARE instruments of death. And some members of the human race ARE getting rich being merchants of death. Alas, babylon!

Sunking, that's one of the ideas of an airshow, to get people thinking about careers in the military or related stuff like aircraft manufacturers. The first time I went to the Andrews airshow, I took along a camcorder (one that used TAPE!). I never knew just how BIG a C-5 Galaxy was until I walked through one. And when I saw the AV-8B Harrier II BACKING UP in midair, I was fully hooked on airshows. I find it funny that, despite being terrified of flying (not because of terrorists hijacking the plane, but just because of the fact that you're flying 35,000ft above the ground), I'm crazy about aircraft in general...
V, I saw that "Mythbusters" episode. I watch it regularly, and it is a RIOT, all the while being educational...

SK - One of the greatest thrills for me was flying next to the Can. Snowbirds. Then being able to go for a ride in an aerobatic plane, open cockpit, harnessed in flying upside down. Many years ago now.

I spent alot...alot... of cash researching riparian rights, foreshore, navigable waters etc. I was trying to defend myself from a lawsuit against a megacorporation in Alberta that was trying to prove they owned the land to the high water mark based on original deeds that came down from land grants to railway companies. I actually hired a lawyer who held the "cadastral chair" in Alberta to resurvey a parcel of land abutting the St. Mary River and to write a report on his findings. Pricy business but my intuit guided me through and the lawsuit "disappeared". I used the North West Territories Act of 1883 to prove the point that English Common Law and land tenure did not "extend to the centre of the stream" and in fact only extended to the area of land that was considered to be of value for agricultural purposes by virtue of the Supreme Court of Canada decision in 1933 "Regina vs. Faires". Then I had to prove the same thing applied to Treaty 7 and reserve lands. (I was the one laying the complaint about being fired upon and I was the one that was charged with trespass..go figure). The provincial judge and the provincial prosecutor didn't like the file I provided with several hundred pages of maps verified true by a Dominion Lands Surveyor and certified true copies of the treaty and that case was "disappeared".
You Yanks had the same exact laws giving out land to reserves and railway companies in 1862 and Canada copied them in 1883.
Public access for the purposes of "watering" stock gave free access across all public and private lands Stock Watering Act..Ch. 12, 1886..Statutes of Canada and the Stock Watering Act of 1862..United States..Way before barbed wire and these acts are still in force.
Bottom line...1 acre per 100 was set aside for public trails..The entire Statutes of Canada 1886 tends to "disappear" from law libraries right across Alberta and British Columbia. The Stock Watering Act in the U.S. can only be found in the Library of Congress.

Meteor shower May 22–23?
Jack Drummond of the Starfire Optical Range predicts that debris shed by the comet many years ago (long before the 1995 breakup) could bring us a meteor shower on the night of May 22–23. He writes:
"The closest approach of [Fragment C's] orbit to the Earth, 0.04 astronomical unit, occurs on May 22 at 20:00 UT. Thus the maximum of the meteor shower would be on May 22 or May 23, with a radiant of right ascension 208° [13h 52m] and declination +30° [in Canes Venatici, 12° north-northwest of Arcturus], and a geocentric velocity of 13.5 km/sec, which is quite slow." Unlike with many meteor showers, this radiant is highest in the sky as early in the night as 11 p.m. daylight saving time — so the meteors would be visible any time from dusk to dawn.
If the shower does peak around 20:00 May 22 Universal Time, that would be during the evening of the 22nd for continental Europe, later at night for western Asia, and before dawn on the 23rd for Central and South Asia. But keep watch wherever you are; the shower, if any, could arrive many hours earlier or later than that.

HOUSTON, May 19 /U.S. Newswire/ -- Eric Julien, former military air traffic controller, twin engine jet pilot and former instructor at astronaut Patrick Baudry's Space Camp -- Discovery Shuttle flight -- has written four articles covering the high probability of a giant tsunami in the Atlantic Ocean caused by the impact of a comet fragment near or on May 25.
Responding to NASA's press release stating the innocuousness of the fragmented comet 73P-SW3 with regards to the Earth, the French author of "The Science of the Extraterrestrials" indicates that numerous scientific data attest to a real danger as was laid out starting with his first article of early April, namely that a small-sized fragment, still unobservable and distant from the principal fragments, could hit the Atlantic Ocean, bringing about the awakening of the volcanoes of the mid-Atlantic ridge, with these being the origin of a possible tsunami with waves two hundred meters high.
Beyond the accumulated scientific data, Julien has drawn attention to the fact that FEMA, the American organization that deals with disasters -- c.f. the Katrina hurricane in Louisiana - - will proceed with a tsunami alert exercise between the 23rd and 25th of May, at the very same time that enormous human and logistical resources will be required for the giant tsunami he is announcing. He notes that such an exercise was scheduled for September 11, 2001 in New York, date of the collapse of the World Trade Center.
Julien declares that numerous prophecies, including those of Nostradamus, Mother Shipton and of the Bible Codes converge precisely towards this critical period of the end of May 2006. Likewise, a great number of persons have declared having experienced Atlantic tsunami dreams prior to his first press release.
The major preoccupation of a growing number of professionals is to preserve human lives by inviting the media to play their role in alerting the public at large. Julien declares: "the risk of planetary catastrophe merits that precautions proportional to the stakes be taken by the media and government authorities. The level of alert adopted by each of these could be appreciated in diverse fashions by the populations exposed to the risk."

Hi all...
I haven't read any prior posts, because I'm beat from being at the Andrews AFB airshow; and what a show it was! I bought a disposable camera there, and once I get the pictures developed, I'll scan them and put 1 picture a day for 27 days up on my blog, so you can see what a great time I had. I'm not in any of the pictures, because the aircraft are the stars of the show, and I don't want to take anything away from them. More details soon to come, but right now, I'm very tired. I'll let you know when the 1st picture's up on my blog...
